No. BLACKbox does not provide category-based internet filtering. It provides URL based filtering and innovative technology called “Happy Hours”, where there is no access to data. The user can browse those websites that are not whitelisted.
The trusted websites that can be allowed along with the data can be mentioned as the whitelisted URLs. Any other website, except these, can be accessed during happy hours. Since data would not be available during happy hours, there would be no chance of uploading anything on the file-sharing platforms.
Giving internet access to a guest’s laptop is not within the scope of BLACKbox. It should be done from the wifi router. But, other policies and restrictions will be applied if the BLACKbox agent is installed on the workstation assigned to the guest.
No. “Allow” and “Block” filters cannot be applied simultaneously for a particular user since it would become contradictory in case one website is mentioned in both the filters. Only one of these two filters or “None”, can be applied at a time.
No. It is not possible to copy data from the enterprise folders to the “Downloads” folder outside happy hours as the “Downloads” folder becomes read-only while the user is not in happy hours.
Users can be allowed to visit any website during happy hours. A list of prohibited sites can also be added to restrict website access.
Yes, Happy hours can be enabled for a fixed period of time during the day. However, it needs to be a single slot of a continuous period.
